'Training for Life'
I set up 'Be Good' Dog Training in 2011 in order to help local dog owners connect with their dogs - learn how they communicate and help their dogs to fit into the human world around them. My Training for Life philosophy is about teaching your dog to enjoy their life with you, giving them the tools to be calm companions, friendly family members and phenomenal playmates - whether standing at the side of your child's rugby match, going on a beach adventure or settling under the table at the local pub - Life is, after all, supposed to be fun! For that reason, the classes that I offer are tailor-made around those dogs that attend them and activities that are carried out in any single class are geared towards the dogs present and do not follow a specific course or syllabus. Classes are all held outside, on private land and there is both parking and seating. Outdoor classes prepare dogs better for the distractions of the real world whilst still remaining in a secure environment. Your whole family are very welcome to attend class - child handlers are positively encouraged (as long as they're able to hold their own dogs!) and I run occasional workshops for children. Puppy courses cover socialisation, training and basic husbandry but also are fun and involve an intro to fun agility. Adolescent courses work on helping your dog navigate puberty and deal with potential tricky behaviours and then for adult dogs I run fun seasonal agility which really is for fun - not compeition! This flexibility allows me to help you to get the best out of your dog without being curtailed to a specific timescale. Every individual dog and family are different and will learn and progress in different ways and at different paces and have different ultimate goals- there is no rush and no requirement to do consecutive courses.
